Indiana State Fair

Featured Farmers: July 30th, 2022

"Sheller Farms LLC, Hamilton County, kicks off the program, representing corn farmers. Diversity, family involvement, and passion characterize this farm. Aaron and Lacey Sheller carry on from his parents. Every bushel of grain produced receives a premium for quality.

A retail segment provides products like fertilizer, spray adjuvants, and seed to other farmers. Sheller Family Foods markets 100% of the beef and pork produced on the farm, meeting the meat needs of over 700 families. The family says passion drives them to be the unique "purple cow" of their industry."

"We love what we do- we are very passionate about farming, and we truly care about our consumers because without them we wouldn't be able to do what we love." -Aaron Sheller

Noblesville Family Farm Rebounds From Tragedy

"Today, Sheller Farms produces row crops, including non-GMO soybean seed and non-GMO food-grade waxy corn. The family also sells farm inputs to other farmers, raises cattle and hogs and operates a direct-to-consumer meat company, Sheller Family Foods. The family’s success earned them recognition at this year’s Indiana State Fair as a Featured Farm--

“For us, farming is about the next generation,” Aaron said. “I’ve got kids who want to be involved in agriculture and there are so many options for them, including row-crop farming, livestock, retail and more. It’s our job to make sure the ship is big enough for them to set foot on. It’s their job to build the ship as big as they’d like it to be.”

"The family has farming in their DNA. As the seventh generation on the farm, they are proud of their legacy, which they hope to share with their three children.

"I think farming is something that's in your blood," Aaron said. "What we get to experience, what we have a passion for, has been in our family for generations and generations. We get to watch ourselves start to pass that on to our children. We have a very important job. We feed the world."
